Post Weird Nelson Memorabilia
I came across this on the National Portrait Gallery web site. The mask is just too weird.

While it's nice in terms of detail, this figurine is also sort of strange.

"Bulldog Admiral Nelson" has a certain charm to it, though I'd think it could have just been called Admiral Bulldog. What people will do to tie something into a historic event.

"Bulldog" Nelson is actually growing on me. There's a Bulldog Wellington and Napoleon as well.

P.S. Liz...if you happen to see this, this one is for you!

How about some teddy bears?

And a doll. (They also have ones of Cook, Flinders, Bligh, and Franklin)

I think the bears are very charming - endearing expressions. You can quite see why Horatio and Emma fell for each other.

I like the simplicity of the dolls; reminiscent of the old wooden toys. My initial re-action was that they reminded me of skittles; buy several and use them for that purpose, but not at that price I'm afraid! :D

I love the Airedale in uniform! I showed it to Simon the Airedale and got one of these "You're kidding, aren't you?" looks.

I have the Xmas decoration....it was given to me as a gift attached to a bottle of wine. Since I couldn't find my Xmas ornaments after the Great Move, it was the only one on the tree, other than the chocolate balls.

Cheers

You know...the guy should sell it as part of a package along with the Nelson mask.

Well, not weird; I think it's enchanting, but I came across this little "Cherished Teddy" at Fakenham market last week. I bought it for £2. They are fetching between £15 and £20 on Ebay. Mind you, it is not a true collector's item as I don't have the box for it.

I hope this link works to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Sweet, Mil - and clearly a representation of The Young Nelson - when he had two arms!
