Post T.M. Grundner: "Between Two Flags"
"Between Two Flags" by T.M. Grundner, according to Amazon, seems to be set (mainly) in 1781 but has an aspect of Science Fiction in that one of the main characters is from the 20th Century. Anybody read this?

"Between Two Flags" is essentially the same book as "The Midshipman Prince" from his Sydney Smith series. He formally withrew BTF, wrote out the science fiction element, and then released it as the pure naval fiction TMP

Thank you. I'm a little surprised that BTF is still available from Amazon.

I think you will find it is only available from partners selling second hand copies as there are quite a few copies 'in the wild'.
I had this conversation with the author when I emailed him to ask about it ,as I had heard the two books were very similar but with slight differences. He would prefer no mention of it but I have added a warning to the TMP page on my site so that those using it as a reference source can avoid them.

As you are from England, it might come as a surprise to you to find that the US version of Amazon.com says that the book is in stock and is sold and ships from Amazon.com. It sure surprises me from the author's comments to you.

I probably would have saved myself some trouble by reading all the reviews at the bottom of the page rather than just the first one as one of them points out the frustration of paying money for a near duplicate of the TMP which the reviewer already owned.
