Post New Books - Feel Free to Add to this List
As Susan has done in the non-fiction section, I thought it would be useful to have the same idea for fiction.

I am starting this new thread off with mention of David Donachie's follow-up to By the Mast Divided. The new one is titled A Shot Rolling Shipand is due out in September.

Please feel free to add to the list. If the book is imminent, please tell us when it's due out. You don't have to provide a link. I just felt like including one.

I just noticed that Peter Smalley's second book, Port Royal, is imminent.

I know the first one, HMS Expedient, generated a small debate amongst us, and I look forward to what Smalley has to write in the next adventure of Rennie and Hayter.

Harry Thompson's TO THE EDGE OF THE WORLD - a novel about Charles Darwin.

I shall certainly try to get hold of a copy, as IMO, as the content looks most promising, and the front cover enticing enough in itself.

Sounds good! Thanks for posting that. I've added it to the SN listing. :)

For those of you who read Allan Mallinson's series about Matthew Hervey, it seems that the next book will have quite a bit about the navy in it.

Here's the Amazon UK page: Man of War

Post William H. White: "In Pursuit of Glory"
I just got a copy of "In Pursuit of Glory" by William H. White and plan on reading it soon. When I did a search here to see if any of White's other books had been discussed, I failed to find anything.

"In Pursuit of Glory" is the second in the Oliver Baldwin series. The first being "The Greater the Honor" (Barbary Wars).

His earlier War of 1812 Trilogy consisted of "The Press of Canvas," "A Fine Tops'l Breeze," and "The Evening Gun."

According to his website, he is currently working on a project featuring HMS PANDORA.

Was just looking at Amazon.co.uk site and noticed that a new Kydd (Julian Stockwin) novel will be out in October of this year. It's called The Admiral's Daughter. Dancing and variegated lamps anyone?

I'd better get on and read the last one, then; still can't get to grips with it.

Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. He mentioned a new book: Set the Seas on Fire by Chris Roberson.

Don't know anything about the author. But looking at his other books, he seems to be writing sci-fi/AU stuff? The review for his previous book Paragaea, says that Hieronymus Bonaventure is a "dimension-hopper." So...is this like Dr. Who meets Hornblower?

Anyone read his books?

I noticed that the reviews stress the "pulp adventure" aspect. I wonder if the books are like the Adam Hardy ones...quick, fun reads?

From David Donachie, the 5th in the John Pearce series - The Admiral's Game.

I look forward to reading it, needless to say!

No one has mentioned Broos' newest, Peter Wicked? Very entertaining. The series is really getting it's legs under it.
