Post Dewey Lambdin: "King, Ship, and Sword"
"King, Ship, and Sword" by Dewey Lambdin

No Spoilers below

Alan Lewrie’s 16th adventure begins with the de-commissioning of his ship as the Peace of Amiens begins. Sent ashore, he struggles to heal his relationships with his family. While on a trip with his wife to France, they are presented to First Consul Bonaparte which brings him to the unwanted attention of several old enemies. After being assigned to HMS "Reliant", he is sent on a mission to Louisiana in America, a place prominent in an earlier novel.

The novel starts and ends with Lewrie at sea and the section in the middle is filled with drama and suspense so I liked this book a little better than the previous one: "The Baltic Gambit."
