Post Julian Stockwin: "Conquest"
I just finished an enjoyable trek through "Conquest", the twelfth in the Kydd series by Stockwin.

NO Spoilers below.

Another fine novel in the on-going saga of Thomas Paine Kydd and his friend Nicholas Renzi. The time period is shortly after Trafalgar when Kydd and the crew of the frigate "L'Aurore" (32) are sent south to Africa with a convoy of soldiers. The Battle of Blaauwberg (aka the Battle of Cape Town) is the central event of this book. Kydd is kept busy before, during, and after this battle with both land and sea adventures. Renzi is confronted with a new challenge ashore and Kydd has an interesting twist in his love life.

The maps were incredibly good and the glossary was tailored to this particular book. Always a plus in my opinion.

The only disappointing thing about this book was the realization that I have to wait (again) for another one!
