 Guinea boats
As I mentioned in this thread I thought anyone who has knowledge of "guinea boats", referred to in the latter end of this entry about smuggling, could enlighten us further, please.

According to A Naval Encyclopaedia (1881), it was a "fast-rowing galley...expressly built for smuggling gold across the Channel, in use at Deal."
