Post Lights
I was looking at the ship movements for Sept 1804 listed in the Naval Chronicle. I found the following:

"Arrived [at Portsmouth] a Schooner, of 16 guns, employed in laying down new lights on the Coast."

Does anyone know what kind of light this refers to? I'm assuming it's somehow related to navigation.

I have the honour to be, &c.
