Post Privateer information
While searching for information on privateers in general, I came across this site that deals in both pirates and privateers. It appears to be well researched and intelligently written.

I haven't had the chance to really look at this site yet, but it looks like there's a fair amount of information. It includes an on-line exhibit.

Wonderful website, Susan. Thank you! Two of us are still kicking around the idea of the Hornblower Convention in Halifax.....if I read through this, I'll know what I'm talking about.....

Cheers

Credit for finding the Nova Scotia site must go to Mil. She pointed out the naval section to me. Some wonderful old photographs (including a few ships' goats, monkeys and a dog) there. I was pleased to see a photo of Sir Alexander Milne, who was once a midshipman in one of BHall's ships.

In the non-naval section, there are some pictures of some crusty old pipers as well. :D

Here is a good site with lists of Privateer ships that sailed out of Canada from 1690-1815. Canadian Privateer Shiplist
