 Russian privateers
The Times, September 28th, 1789:
" ... On Wednesday evening the Trimmer sloop of war sent a Russian cutter-privateer into Plymouth Sound, which was cruizing off that port, having on board several British seamen, who are now delivered up to the Admiral there.. ..."

The Times, November 17th, 1789:
" ... The Russian Lugger Privateer, sent into Plymouth by his Majesty's ship Trimmer , still remains at that port; her Commander, an Englishman, formerly a Midshipman in our Navy, is under arrest on board the Trimmer, on suspicion of not having a legal authority. ..."
