A few days before she captured the Packet, she was boarded by an English frigate and she positively produced a Guernsey Commission' ......"

Interesting.... in my ignorance, I did not realise that multi-national commissions were held. Has anyone any comments/information?

I have heard of multiple forged letters of marque carried by Caribbean pirates. If boarded by a naval vessel, being able to produce a decently forged letter of marque could be a pirate's "get out of jail free card."

Revealing more than one doesn't make any sense to me.
