Post Jahleel Brenton

From The Times, March 29, 1797:

" .... we learn with infinite pleasure that Vice-Admiral Waldegrave has already in his possession three of the most beautiful and correct drawings imaginable. They are representations of the sea fight off Cape St Vincent, on the 14th of February 1797. As the Vice-Admiral had the honour to command the larboard division on this memorable day, the above drawings must have, in addition to their other merits, that of correctness; we therefore cannot but hope that the Vice-Admiral will gratify the Public by permitting them to be engraved by the first Artists. We understand, that these drawings have been executed by Lieutenant Jahleel Brenton, son of Captain Brenton, of the Royal Navy ...."
