Post Lights at anchor
I'm looking for a quick reference about what lights would be put up when a ship was at anchor. Stern lights? Something on a mast or two? I assume there must have been specific orders about where they should show lights.
Just one of those little details that isn't so easy to find.

Also, while on the subject of activities at anchor -- I've been told that RN crews made a habit of taking down upper yards every night when they were in port. For the practice, so they'd be quick about it when it was really needed, & also to inspect them.
Anyone know if this is right?

Thanks!
