Post J. M. W. Turner meets Matthew Brady?
Well, maybe not.

I was out paddling my OC-1 last week and this guy on the beach signals me over. "Can I take your picture?"

He was a varnished wooden camera on a tripod. Yeah, wooden. No lense, just a pinhole for an apeture.

"This will take four seconds," says he.

"Er, the ocean tends to move those upon it," says I. "It's going to be blurry as a Civil War photo."

"Yeah, I know. That's part of the effect."

So this is how J. M. W. Turner painter of "The Fighting Temeraire" might have viewed a solo outrigger canoeist and his boat, "Queequeg" if he was using one of Matthew Brady's cameras.

Title? Perhaps "The Fighting Queequeg."
