 Polar Exploration
I just finished reading Trial by Ice: The True Story of Murder and Survival on the 1871 Polaris Expedition (2001) by Richard Perry.
It started off a bit slow, but got more interesting a few chapters in.
The expedition was not the best/brightest moments of US exploration. It was a bit of a mess from the start and things only got worse once Polaris reached the waters off Greenland. The ship wasn't ideal for the conditions encountered and the crew and scientists were at odds with each other.

 Re: Polar Exploration
Sounds an interesting one to look out for. I hadn't heard of it before.
