Post Ghost ships
This forum is growing so delightedly diverse and interesing that I cannot recall whether we have such a thread. :)

We know about the Marie Celeste but in a book I have, The Encyclopaedia of Ghosts and Spirits by John & Anne Spencer, I came across an entry for the Griffin, built in Niagara and owned by Robert Cavelier de Lesalle which set stail on the Great Lakes in August 1679 and disappeared on 18 September, a month or so later as she sailed through Green Bay. It says that since then there have been several reports of the ghostly vessel sailing the Great Lakes.

Has anyone got anything to add to this?

The same book also mentions The Flying Dutchman.

Lennie Gallant has a song about it:
