Susan!

My enquiries re patients' records at Haslar have not been fruitful. I suspect because no-one has actually done any published research requiring such things. I have been given a long list of the contents of the various collections, the most promising being

Adm 1/3533-41: Physician etc- reports to Admiralty on invalided officers 1793-1839
Adm 102/848: Medical Journals 1825-7
Adm 305/102: Lunatic asylum journal 1830-42

Do you know when Hall was there?

I've created this new thread specifically about Haslar instead of having the posts in the Surgeon/Sick Bay thread.

Some general info here: Haslar Royal Naval Navy Hospital
Mil posted this related link: Ghosts at Haslar

Hi Brian,

Thanks for looking for the information!

I don't know the exact date on which he was admitted to the hospital. The first articles about his illness appear in the papers in September 1842. Then there are articles confirming his illness in October.

He remained at the hospital until his death on 11 Sept 1844. The Lunatic Asylum journal sounds promising, as he was a patient there. Too bad it ends at 1842. I wonder if there are later ones available?
