Post Maritime History website
I have been doing some online research to see if the back-story in "HMS Expedient" by Peter Smalley actually occurred in history. Specifically, I was looking for the history of HMS Perseus. This led me to the Maritime Historywebsite.

To get an idea of what type of information is available in the ship's listing, check out HMS Victory.

There is some other interesting data available at this same webpage.

Susan, this may be listed somewhere else in SN. I just couldn't find it. If so, let me know and I will delete this.

I do have it listed in the links section under "Age of Sail - General," but that's okay.

A lot of work has gone in to compiling the list. However, I find it hard to read/use due to the page layout.

I am slowly working on the SN ship listing section. Unlike the Maritime History site, I am proud to say that the SN list has hot links to the bio pages of the commanding officers and, hopefully, the page layout makes the information easier to read.

I have the honour to be, &c.
