Post Mutiny - general

From The Times of March 31, 1804:

" ..... an English vessel trading from London to Dublin was captured a few days since by a French privateer, in sight of Land's End, and soon after recaptured by Sir E Pellew. The vessel was put in charge of a Midshipman (Mr Robson Cruse) to conduct her to Falmouth, in which he experienced much difficulty in consequence of part of the crew having formed a design to throw him overboard, and carry the ship into a French port; but, by the timely discovery of the plot, the mutineers were secured, and the ship is now safe at Falmouth ....."

I bet that mid got a lot of ragging over his name.

The Times, July 7th, 1804:

" .... Wednesday morning at nine o'clock, two of the mutineers of his Majesty's ship Montagne, of 74 guns, who have been for some weeks past under sentence of death, were executed in Plymouth harbour, one of them on board the Minotaur, of 74 guns, in Cawsand Bay, and the other in Hamoaze. Two others, who are under sentence of death, are reserved, as it is said, to be executed on board one of the ships of the fleet off Brest. ...."
